The Wheatsheaf is a Harvey’s tied pub which dates from the 1700s situated 1.5 miles downhill from the town centre but close to the station. The white weatherboarded building has an outdoor seating area surrounded by colourful hanging baskets in Summer. Inside are three seating areas around a central bar, with real fires during the Winter and many pictures of the pubs history.
